Information Literacy Assessment Competency Rubrics
The Committee plans on exploring the use of rubrics for judging student learning of information literacy. Below are a few resources that the Committee will refer to when developing in-house rubrics:

• Accessing Information Literacy Outcomes - Instructional slideshow by Diane W. Creel, Coordinator of Academic Assessment at Northern Virginia Community College. The presentation includes instructions on writing rubrics and some examples.
• Information Literacy Guidelines for Rubrics - Sample from Delaware Technical & Community College Libraries.
• Information Literacy Rubrics - Samples from New Jersey City University.

Information Literacy Assessment Results
Preliminary results from Project SAILS will be available July 2005. The committee will begin analyzing the results in Fall 2005 and will make recommendations to the campus at large based on this analysis. In the interim, faculty are encouraged to review our campus Information Literacy Competencies as a guide to classroom instruction in this area.
