  1. Age -Applicants must be 18 years of age or older when the program begins
    (May 17, 2005)
  2. Selection for Participation - All applicants will be screened by the college prior to acceptance and will be notified of their status in a timely manner. Interested students are encouraged to contact Roman Reyes, Art Department Chair or Dale Doubleday, ISA Program Director as soon as possible.
  3. Cost - The estimated cost for the 2005 program is 2,800 USD (United States Dollars), and breaks down as follows:
    • All Transportation costs = 1,105 USD (roundtrip airfare, all airport transfers, bus and shuttles on all side trips & excursions)
    • Lodging = 1,000 +/- USD
    • Event dinner and Castle lunches = 150 USD
    • Admissions - 29 USD
    • Program Fees = 1, 170 USD (instructional support, host institution, technology etc.)

      Actual participant cost may vary depending on the number of courses taken, amount spent on food, and currency fluxuation. Base currency for the Republic of Ireland is the Euro (EUR). For currency conversions visit OANDA COM.

  4. Payment -You must register and make your minimum initial deposit before February 10th, 2005. Minimum initial deposit is 1,000 USD. Program fees must be paid in full no later than March 27, 2005.

    You may, if you wish, pay in installments so long as the total program fee of $2,800 is received by March 27, 2005.


  5. Payment of Tuition - Tuition of 55 USD (minimum of one courses at $55 per credit hour) must be paid no later than the first day of class. Tuition is based on the standard MCCD in-state tution rate of $55 per credit hour. Out of state students are subject to a higher tuition rate as determined by the MCCD Governing Board (see printed Summer 2005 Course Schedule for more information). Some courses may require extra fees in addition to base tuition. See the printed Summer 2005 Course Schedule for more information. (For 2005, no courses offered in the Study Abroad in Ireland Program require an extra course fee.)
  6. Refunds:
    • Tuition - Refunds of tuition payments are available and are determined by the policies articulated in the Phoenix College Catalogue and the printed and online Phoenix College Course Schedule.
    • Program Fees - Program fees may be refunded on the following basis:
      100% refund if cancellation occurs on or before March 21, 2005
      75% refund if cancellation occurs between March 22 and March 26, 2005
      50% refund if cancellation occurs between March 27, 2005 and April 10, 2005
      25% refund if cancellation occurs between April 11 and May 9, 2005
      0% refund if cancellation occurs on or after May 10, 2005

    NOTE - The refund policy articulated above is based on the College's financial commitments for faculty salary, airfare, ground transportation, accommodations, and instructional space in Ireland that have to be paid in advance of departure.


  7. Itinerary Changes - Phoenix College and the Study Aborad in Ireland program are not responsible for any costs incurred by altering an itinerary after tickets (air, train, coach, etc.) have been purchased.
