Terms
- Muscle Strength: The ability of the muscle to exert a maximum force against a resistance.
- Muscle Endurance : The ability of the muscle to exert a submaximal
force repeatedly over a period of time.
- Sets: A specific number of repetitions performed consecutively without resting.
- Repetitions: A single complete movement of an exercise from the starting point, through the entire movement, and then back to the starting point.
- Split Routines: Dividing your workout into specific groups or categories. For example, performing upper body workouts one day and lower body workouts the next day.
- Progression: Increasing the intensity of an exercise my adjusting either sets, repetitions, or resistance.
- Dumbells: The equivalent of free-weights.
- Gluteal Muscles: Anyone of the three large muscles of the buttocks.
