Review of Minutes

December 15, 2003 minutes were reviewed and corrections made.  Corrections will be submitted at the next meeting.

Web Access to Personal Information

Privacy issues regarding HLC committee minutes on the PC web site were discussed.  Queta shared that a concern had been raised by faculty at another committee meeting regarding the protection of privacy and safeguarding of contact information using web resources.  Because minutes will be on the web, identifying members with first and last names may facilitate web searches for more personal information i.e. home addresses, contact information, etc.  The committee agreed to have minutes reflect first name and initial of last name in an effort to reduce the ease of obtaining personal information using web information.

Advisory Committee Task Force Report (see attachment)

Julie S., Nan R., and Dianne G. reported on meeting regarding collection of information from advisory committees. The committee needed clarification regarding the following items:

  1. Do we need to provide listing of all advisory councils?  Yes, HLC needs to see the development of the programs since 1996.  Sources for this information include PC and District Curriculum offices, Library and Admissions and Records as sources of documentation.
  1. How extensive does the documentation need to be?  Is providing a reference to the availability of the evidence of programs and advisory committees’ role needed?    Queta to bring back answer from steering committee.
  1. How will information requests to chairs be handled?  This group can determine what information needs to be asked of chairs and program directors.  This can be forwarded to HLC Committee to include as part of survey to chairs group.
