HLC Criterion 3 Meeting Notes

April 19, 2004

The HLC Criterion 3 Subcommittee met April 19, 2004.  In attendance were Mike Mitchell, Chair;  Joy Fitzpatrick; Kristin Anderson; Lily Kang; John Arle; Ofelia Canez; Brent Jamison; and Don Richardson.

Mike began the meeting by reminding everyone of our final meeting of the year, May 3, 2004 at noon in the Library Conference Room.  He says he will not renege on his promise of spaghetti and his own special sauce.  Brent is bringing bread, and Ofelia will provide the salad.  All are to provide their own drinks.

Since we are near the end of the semester, Mike proposed that assigning responsibilities for 3c should be deferred until the fall; the committee acquiesced.  Members then brainstormed as follows on the bullets under 3d, “The organization’s learning resources support student learning and effective teaching.”

Respectfully,

  • Don Richardson
  • “The organization ensures access to the resources (e.g., research laboratories, libraries, performance spaces, clinical practice sites) necessary to support learning and teaching.
