EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT and FIRE SCIENCE MISSION STATEMENT,
VALUES and OPERATIONAL GOALS

To provide the highest quality education and training in initial provider, continuing education and promotional courses that fosters excellence in learning, establishes strong character, and develops attitudes and skills essential for life-long success.

To this end, the faculty, staff and skills evaluators
1. believe that teaching at phoenix College is a privilege that entails a high degree of responsibility.
2. convey a sense of integrity, warmth and genuine caring for each student's development and needs.
3. are enthusiastic, capable and credible professionals who possess special skills and qualities that make teaching and learning in Emergency Medical Technology and Fire Science rewarding for students and each other.

Operational Goals
1. Continue to initiate and maintain currency and relevance in EMT/FSC Program Curriculum.
2. Provide ongoing educational opportunities for members of the community desiring entry level, enrichment and emediation in knowledge base in Emergency Medical Technology and Fire Science.
3. Continue to involve instructors and students in program assessment, curriculum design, instructional strategies and cost effective inventory control.
4. Continue to recruit and support instructors who are recognized and respected experts in their field.
5. Provide ongoing evaluative opportunities for instructors and advisors.
6. Maintain communications with local agencies.
7. Continue to customize scheduled training for specific agencies
