StudyMate Announcement
We have a new software available to us to assist in student learning opportunities.  The software is called StudyMate and
is developed by the same company that made Respondus.  Attached below is information on the software and how to
download it.
If you have any questions, please call Kurt Chambers (57265) or Julie Magadan (57648).
Thanks,
Kurt Chambers

Subject: StudyMate is now available
Maricopa Community Colleges has obtained a campus-wide license for the StudyMate software. StudyMate is an
authoring tool that lets you create 9 Flash-based activities and games using three simple templates. The Flash activities
can be published directly to your Blackboard and WebCT courses.
StudyMate also allows you to download publisher test banks for textbooks that have been adopted in your classes
(there is no charge for this service). Information about the Respondus Test Bank Network -- and StudyMate software
application -- is available at http://www.respondus.com
You can obtain a copy of the StudyMate software by downloading it from
   http://realgar.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/grab/
Use the following to enter the protected download site:
        username = responding
        password = A7mariTest
The file you download is named "StudyMateCampus.exe". Locate the file on your hard drive and double-click it to start
the StudyMate installation program. During the installation process you will be asked to enter the name of the institution,
the local support contact, and the installation password. The information must be entered EXACTLY as follows:
Institution Name:   Maricopa Community Colleges
Local Support Contact(s):
Jeffrey Anderson, e-mail: jeffa@mail.mc.maricopa.edu;
Sam Fraulino, e-mail:  sam.fraulino@pvmail.maricopa.edu
Installation Password:  Z528395137
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
We recommend that you accept the default settings for where the program is installed. It's important to note that you are
not able to download the software directly from the Respondus website, nor are you able to use the password listed above
to activate a copy previously downloaded from their site.

Context-sensitive help is available throughout the StudyMate program by pressing the F1 key. It is also available by
selecting "Help" from the pull-down menu on the toolbar. A copy of the StudyMate User Guide (in Word/WordPad
format) can be downloaded from http://www.respondus.com/products/userguide.shtml
If you have questions or problems using the StudyMate software, you should first consult the online help or
StudyMate User Guide. If you are still unable to resolve your problem, direct your questions to the following
person(s) here at Maricopa Community Colleges:
Jeffrey Anderson, Mesa Community College / CTL Dept., e-mail: jeffa@mail.mc.maricopa.edu
Sam Fraulino, Paradise Valley Community College, e-mail: sam.fraulino@pvmail.maricopa.edu

Our license with Respondus, Inc. does NOT permit instructors to obtain support directly from Respondus, Inc.
If our staff is unable to solve a particular question or problem, we will contact Respondus, Inc. on your behalf.
Our license DOES permit you to install a copy of the StudyMate software on a home computer. However, please
note that you are not permitted to provide the StudyMate software or the password information to anyone who
is not affiliated with our institution. Such an action is a violation of our licensing agreement with Respondus and
is also illegal.
We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and that you find
the StudyMate software useful.
