CLUB LIST AMERICAN
SOCIETY OF INTERIOR DESIGN (ASID) ASID Student Chapter is directly affiliated with the national organization, which is the largest, and most well-known professional interior design organization in the country. Its purpose is to promote a means of networking between students and professionals in the fields. Student members are encouraged to attend and participate in local professional meetings. Students plan activities throughout the year, including seminars, home tours, industry visits, workshops and social gatherings. AMNESTY
INTERNATIONAL Amnesty International is a worldwide human rights movement with over 1 million members, including 300,000 in the U.S. Amnesty International works to free all prisoners of conscience; ensure fair and prompt trials for all political prisoners; abolish the death penalty, torture and other ill-treatment of prisoners; end political killings and "disappearances"; and to promote, through education and action, greater understanding and respect for human rights. Amnesty International meets every Tuesday 1:00 p.m. at the Student Life and Leadership Office. ASOCIACION
A.L.E. was formed in order to unite people from different ethnic Latin groups and to promote Latino/Hispano awareness. It focuses on learning about different Latin cultures and taking part in community related activities. A.W.A.R.E.
(Adults Who Are Returning To Education) Encourages and assists, in as many ways as possible, the return of adult men and women in their education, their development of skills and their positive feelings of achieving success in school. BLACK

OF AMERICA The purpose of the FUTURE TEACHERS CLUB of Phoenix Colleges is to promote a students' professional development and to foster and develop relationships and ideas that lead to a more comprehensive understanding of what it means to be a teacher. HIP
HOP CLUB The Phoenix College Hip Hop Squad can be seen numerous times throughout the year both promoting the performing arts, higher education, school pride, community, and multicultural unity. Their unique, diverse style is requested both on and off PC's campus. School performances include athletic events, freshman orientation, Homecoming JamBEARee Week, Spring Fling, Martin Luther King Tribute, and ultimately the semester dance recitals. In addition, the group performs at Phoenix community fundraisers, charity benefits, and awareness events, including the AIDS Walk, Celebration of Dance, Central Arizona Basketball Organization, and the Martin Luther King March. CLUB The International Club provides opportunities for American and International students to share ideas and participate in activities that promote and enhance their knowledge and understanding of global cultures.
The John Paul Theater Troupe is a student organization dedicated to promoting education, recreation, and production of good theater for the college and community. Members are encouraged to explore all aspects of theater from design to construction, writing to exhibition, and concept to production. Technical, acting, writing, directing, designing or just watching; all of these parts of theater are a part of the John Paul Theater Troupe. Theater Troupe members also branch out to the community to assist local theater at the community and professional level. LATIN
DANCE CLUB The
Phoenix College Latin Dance Club is free for all enrolled M.E.Ch.A.
(Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanos de Aztlan) M.E.Ch.A serves as a recruitment, retention and support group for Latino students. M.E.Ch.A's goal is to promote an awareness and understanding of the Latino culture in relationship to the total school and community. NATIVE AMERICAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION
(NASA) Students meet weekly to participate in Native American activities and to get involved with the Indian community. NASA promotes cultural exchange in order to enrich college life as well as serves as a support group for Native Americans. Rainbow

American Association of Community and Junior Colleges. PTK recognizes
and encourages scholarship, the development of leadership and service,
and cultivates fellowship among students at S.A.I.L.
(STUDENT ACTIVITIES, INVOLVEMENT, AND LEADERSHIP) The goal of SAIL is to provide an opportunity for all PC students to become involved in campus life. SAIL accomplishes this by planning events, by informaing students about events and issues, and by being a forum to voice student concerns. This new organization is forming in Fall 2004. STUDENT
AMERICAN DENTAL HYGIENIST ASSOCIATION (S.A.D.H.A.) Cultivates, promotes, and sustains the art and science of dental hygiene, and represents and safeguards the common interest of the members of the dental hygiene profession. Contributes toward the improvement of the health of the public. STUDENT
NURSES ORGANIZATION Facilitates communication among students during the four semesters of the Nursing program. Provides education in the nursing field. Guest speakers. |
