Course Redesign for ESL 040 and 041 Courses

Redesign and Technology Infusion for ESL 041 (Listening and Speaking 4)

Step 2—Project Overview

In collaboration with Nancy Meyers and her ESL 040 class, this redesign will provide the following:

• Word documents for 4 modes of presentations (process analysis, opinion, descriptive and compare and contrast) to share on Smart Board with both classes.
• PowerPoint presentations for each of the above modes of speaking
• Development of activities pertaining to text based Internet site for classroom use from NorthStar Publishing’s Focus on Listening and Speaking, Advanced.
• Revision of syllabus and rubrics to incorporate these new technology elements.
• Working with Nancy throughout the fall 2004 semester to insure that students are using these new elements.
• Request some fall 04 TR 10:00-11:15 class time be scheduled in a technology classroom.

Step 3—Working on Project

Beginning Date:  May 15

Ending Date:  Dec 15    

Note:  We will continue to work on this project in the fall, even though the contract projected completion date is Aug. 1, 2004

Review, collaborate, and revise learning community for Spring 2005 to include Reading level 4 (RDG 040)
