We recently received the summary report on student performance and pass rates for the national Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) exam for the 03-04 exam period.  This exam is administered by the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) and is one of the two nationally recognized certifications.  The CLA is the most frequently attempted certification by recent legal assisting graduates.

Once again, PC's LAS graduates equaled, or substantially outperformed, all other examinees at both the state and national level.

The exam tests six knowledge domains and students must pass at least five of the sections.

Nationally, there were 876 first-time examinees, of which 35% passed.
Statewide for Arizona, there were 51 first-time examinees, of which 55% passed.
For Phoenix College, there were 13 first-time examinees, of which 69% passed.

The attached file shows a graphical breakdown.  The file can be viewed in either Excel or with a web browser.

Per the agreement with NALA, the information cannot be used for marketing or promotional purposes.
