The complete report presented this afternoon by Mr. Bruce Lawson
of Fox Lawson and Associates at a meeting of the college's consolidated
planning councils is available on the PC website.
The report provides the: purpose of the study, process, summary results,
conclusions, results comparison and recommendations.
In a nutshell, the report states that:
The results were found to be generally neutral to positive.
The target group of 1,062 possible respondents returned 396 useable
surveys for a 37% response rate. A typical response rate for this
type of survey is fifty percent.
In comparison with other colleges and governmental organizations surveyed
by Fox and Lawson, Phoenix
College
scores more positive than others.
There are specific areas and challenges that can be addressed to make
improvements within our organization.
The following will occur.
1. A bound, paper copy of the Employee Climate Survey Report will
be sent to each department head tomorrow.
2. The detailed data by question will be made available on the website
within the next 24 hours. Please note that individual confidentiality
will be maintained.
3. A process is being created for requests for additional detail so
that individual confidentiality is maintained.
4. Mr. Lawson will be invited back to PC to give this presentation
and all college employees will be invited to this session.
5. The recommendations will be reviewed, action steps identified and
prioritized for implementation by the council and administration.
These will be merged into the Strategic Plan.
Mr. Lawson also recommends that the survey be repeated every 18-24
months to enable us to measure progress.

College web site.
I want to thank those that submitted a survey. I also want to convey
my appreciation to all of the individuals who served on committees
that participated in the bid process to select the agency and also
contributed to the design and implementation of the survey. A special
thanks to Scott Geddis for his leadership through this arduous process.
