The core components of Criterion 2 are:

2B:      The organization’s resource base supports its educational programs and its plans for maintaining and strengthening their quality in the future.

2C:      The organization’s ongoing evaluation and assessment processes provide reliable evidence of institutional effectiveness that clearly informs strategies for continuous improvement.

2D:      All levels of planning align with the organization’s mission, thereby enhancing its capacity to fulfill that mission.

The core components were broken down further and identified as follows:

2A – Main area that core component addresses is planning.

2B – Main area addresses resources.

2C – Main area addresses evaluation.

2D – Everything else ties in.

The committee focused on Core Component 2A: Demonstrate evidence/material that this is being done.  Collect materials related to: strategic plan, master plan, and budget plan.  Cyclical process – 10 year history of budget process, demonstrating how we handle our resources.

The Committees charge is to: collect data, review strengths and weaknesses, identify problems and make recommendations for improvement.  The overall NCA committee will take the information and address the weaknesses.  Darrell will clarify with the NCA committee chair the process we are to use: 1) identify gaps; or 2) identify and then fix gaps.

How to identify flaws:  For each of 4 core components, example evidence is provided.

Areas of planning:  Strategic Planning, BRC, SMAC, Staffing Committee.
