Students wishing to pursue a four-year degree in Education, including:

    • Elementary Education (K-8),
    • Early Childhood (Pre K-3),
    • Special Education (K-12), or
    • Secondary Education (7-12),

may enroll in general studies and lower division education requirements at Phoenix College. Transfer requirements vary at four-year institutions.

Universities require separate application to their professional Education programs.

Associate degree and Occupational program have been added in the field of Instructional Aides, as well as the Associate of Arts in Elementary Education.

Teacher Education students are provided with the opportunity to experience the classroom environment through volunteer service credits. The volunteer experience may require students to be fingerprinted when volunteering in a setting involving minors.

Students are urged to seek advisement on degree requirements, course selection, and the transfer process.
