YAVAPAI CAPTURES 2011 NJCAA DIVISION I NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP — Yavapai posted five consecutive victories to win the 2011 NJCAA Division I National Championship. The Roughriders scored wins over Pitt (3-1), McLennan (8-1), Talahassee (2-0), and Salt Lake (6-1 and 7-0) on their way to the title. Yavapai's Estela Pinon was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Pitcher and MVP. joining Pinon on the All-Tournament Team from Yavapai were Sierra Rodriguez, Vanessa House, and Brittany Keiser.

South Mountain Places 4th at NJCAA D2 Championships — South Mountain won four games and dropped two at the NJCAA Division II National Championships to place fourth. South Mountain opened with a 15-1 win over Sauk Valley before falling to LSU Eunice 7-6 in game two. South Mountain then won 9-1 over Mercyhurst, 11-6 over Heartland, and 7-2 over Pasco Hernando. Owens CC defeated South Mountain 8-7 in nine innings in the battle for third place. The Cougars' Felicia Wilson (1B) and Sabeana Romero (3B) were named to teh All-Tournament Team.
