Division 1 Championship. The best 2-of-3 series begins
at Yavapai at 2:00 p.m. on Thurdsay, May 8th. The
probable starters for game one are two of the ACCAC's
best in Yavapai's Rick Anton (13-3) and the Vaqueros'

pitcher Josh Spence has been selected the ACCAC Player
of the Year for the second straight season while Yavapai
Head Coach Sky Smeltzer is the 2008 ACCAC Coach of
the Year. Coach Smeltzer has earned this honor three

CAC's Honeycutt
Selected NJCAA Player of the Week
Central Arizona's Ryan Honeycutt
has been selected the NJCAA Division I National Player
of the Week for the week ending March 19th. Honeycutt,
a freshman from Las Cruces, NM, helped lead Central
to three victories on the week by batting .667 (10-15)
and driving in 10 runs. His best performance came
when he went 4-for-5 at the plate with five RBI. Of
his four hits, two were doubles and he also scored
two runs and was credited with a stolen base. Honeycutt
also pitched one scoreless inning in CAC's 8-1 win
over El Paso Community College (Texas).

Arizona Western's Derek Benham is the Division 1 Pitcher
