PC Cubed Now Accepting Applications for Fall Semester
"Strength in employee development and leadership at PC comes from
the open collaboration and free interactivity of many people who can serve
as change agents for the campus, and help remove the barriers that prevent
employees from realizing their true potential," writes Arlene Martinsen
of Learning Technologies and Development. "Ultimately, the hope of
PC Cubed is that each group of participants will contribute to redesigning
and enhancing the campus work environment to benefit Phoenix College students,
employees, and community." For more information, please visit: http://www.pc.maricopa.edu/staffdev/assets/documents/PC_Cubed_Application05-06.pdf
or contact Arlene at X57444. I went into PC Cubed with a bit of trepidation, because I don't always enjoy working with groups of people, especially people I don't know. By the end of the second workshop, that trepidation disappeared, because there was no longer anyone there I didn't know. Some of the workshop information was familiar, but seeing it as it related to our campus gave it new meaning. In all, PC Cubed provided an opportunity to visit most of the departments on campus, all in one room, with a great deal of laughter and warmth. It was time well spent. Karen Legg, Library Thank you again for the wonderful opportunity to participate in the 2004-05 PC Cubed. I enjoyed getting to know other individuals within the PC family who wear many different hats and perform a variety of services for our students. The teachings in the PC Cubed events were both informative and relative to a positive environment in higher education. Most important to me was the feeling of cohesion and purpose that PC Cubed gave me toward my role on this campus. I know that I have made a great many friends by being a part of this. Gene Heppard, Special Services I highly recommend PC Cubed to all employees; it is a fun and dynamic program! It creates opportunities for participants to form relationships with people on campus they may not normally interact with, to actively engage with a range of important concepts and guest speakers, and to renew both professional and personal skills, beliefs, and behaviors. Julie Magadan, Learning, Technologies, and Development Being a new employee at Phoenix College, participating in PC Cubed training gave me the opportunity to meet and establish new relationships with individuals in various departments, also to focus on the mission, vision, and the PC Basics. This gave me a clearer understanding of what the college is about and a chance to weave my way into the fabric of the school enabling me to make positive contributions to our growth. Overall, it was most valuable in that it was a forum that decreased the time cycle for getting oriented and networking. Cora McMiller, Custom Training and Education
