Building Safety & Construction Technology

This program is designed to prepare students for positions as qualified building inspectors for local municipalities and the construction industry . The building inspector's work involves face-to-face relationships with building contractors, trades people, architects, engineers, homeowners, and other members of the general public. A thorough knowledge of building codes and construction methods accompanied by good communication and judgment skills is emphasized throughout the program.

Students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university should contact the Industrial Technology faculty or the Advisement Center for specific information on transfer requirements.
