Mesa Bows Out of NJCAA DII World Series — Mesa lost its first two games in the 2004 NJCAA Division II World Series to end the 2004 baseball season. Mesa fell 3-2 to Iowa Central and then 11-8 to Elgin CC (ILL).

Mesa Advances to NJCAA D2 World Series, Central Arizona Falls to Dixie State — Mesa defeated Brown Mackie (KS) 2-1, Northeast Oklahoma 5-1, and Brown Mackie again in the title game 23-1 to advance to the NJCAA Division 2 College World Series, which begins May 29 in Millington, Tennessee. Central Arizona bowed out in the NJCAA D1 opening round 14-4 and 10-4 to Dixie State.

Central Arizona to Face Dixie State for Shot at NJCAA World Series — NJCAA Region 1 Champion Central Arizona will travel to Region 18 Champion for a best 2-of-3 series, with the winner receiving a ticket to the NJCAA World Series. Central and Dixie State will play at 3:00 p.m. on May 21 and May 22. The "rubber" game will be played at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23rd, if needed.

Central Arizona Moves ion with Sweep of Cochise — Central Arizona advanced in the NJCAA Playoffs with a pair of victories over Cochise to capture the NJCAA Region 1 Division I Championship. Complete Playoff Schedule

Central Sweeps, Cochise/South Mountain Battling for Championship Round Berth — Central Arizona advanced to the finals of the NJCAA Region I Division II Championships with a 2-1 and 4-2 sweep of Pima. Central will host the winner of the South Mountain and Cochise series, which is tied at one win each. Cochise won the opener 3-2, while South Mountain pushed the series to the rubber game with a 6-3 win. Complete Playoff Schedule

Mesa Takes NJCAA Region I Championship — Mesa swept the 2-of-3 series 12-2 and 6-2 over Glendale to capture the 2004 NJCAA Region I Division 2 title. Mesa will host a 3-team inter-regional tournament beginning May 21. Mesa will play host to the Champions from the Jayhawk Conference (KS) and Enid (OK). Complete Playoff Schedule

NJCAA Region I Baseball Playoffs Set — Cochise will travel to South Mountain and Pima to Central Arizona at the semifinals of the NJCAA Region I Division 1 Baseball Tournament begins on Thursday, May 6, at 3:00 p.m. The NJCAA Region I Division II Championships also begins on May 6 as Glendale travels to Mesa for the 2004 Championship. NJCAA Region I, All-ACCAC Honors Handed Out — The NJCAA Region I and ACCAC have announced the honorees for the 2004 season. South Mountain's Luis Cota (left) earned First Team NJCAA Region I and All-ACCAC honors while also being selected the Conference's Player of the Year. ACCAC Rules NJCAA's National Softball & Baseball Weekly Awards — The ACCAC garnered five of the six National Player/Pitcher of the Week Awards for the week ending April 26. The NJCAA Softball National Players of the Week are Cental Arizona's Jeanette Rincon (Division I) and Chandler-Gilbert's Kelsi Jensen (Division 2). Both Pitcher of the Week awards also went to the ACCAC as Central's Jessica Stubbs took Division 1 honors and Mesa's Laura Chomokos took the Division 2 award. EA's Fessler Tabbed Pitcher of the Week, AWC's Jones Hitter of the Week — Chris Fessler (right) played a part in each of Eastern Arizona's three victories last wek to earn the ACCAC Pitcher of the Week honor, while Arizona Western's Mike Jones batted .538 with six runs and five RBI to garner the ACCAC Hitter of the Week award. Yavapai Joins Central Ariozona, Glendale & Mesa in NJCAA Polls — Yavapai entered the NJCAA Division I baseball rankings for the week ending April 14th at #17 while Central Arizona moved up a spot to third in the nation in the same Division.
