in the opening round to Wallace State (AL), Yavapai
won three straight by a combined score of 39-13
to reach the Championshiop round of the 2006 NJCAA
Division I Baseball National Championship. Yavapai
defeated Walters State 9-0 to force a second title
game in the double-elimination format before falling

Before Falling from National Tourney
The Thunderbirds fell to Elgin (IL)
CC 6-4 in 10 innings in the opening game of the 2006
NJCAA Division II Baseball National Championship Tournament.
Mesa then lost 13-8 to St. Louis-Forest Park to be

to Region I Division I Title Yavapai
defeated Pima 6-4 and 5-0 to
sweep the best of three series and capture the NJCAA
Region I Division I Championship. The Roughriders
advance to the NJCAA National Championships, which
will be played May 27th to June 3rd in Grand Junction,

Back to Capture Region I Division II Championship
Mesa advances
to the NJCAA Division II National Championships with
a victory over Glendale in the third and deciding
game of the Region I Championship Series. Mesa, which
lost the first game in the best of three series, captured
games two and three to capture the Region I Championship.

and top-seed Yavapai defeated Chandler-Gilbert in
three games to advance to the best 2-of-3 championship

Arizona Western, the #2 seed, will
host #3 seed Pima in one semifinal while top-seeded
Yavapai will host Chandler-Gilbert in the other. The

ACCAC, NJCAA Region I Honors Yavapai,
ranked #2 in NJCAA Division I with a 47-9 overall
record and a 32-6 ACCAC mark, placed eight players
on the All-ACCAC and NJCAA All-Region I teams. Yavapai
Head Coach Sky Smeltzer was selected the ACCAC Coach
of the Year while Eval LeBlanc was tabbed the ACCAC's

to a perfect 4-0 record on the week by posting a .650
batting average with 10 runs scored and nine RBI.

LeBlanc Lead ACCAC Leading Yavapai
Yavapai sits atop the ACCAC standings
with a 28-6 Conference record and are ranked #3 in
NJCAA Division I with an overall mark of 43-9. Leading
the way for the Roughriders on the mound is JR Murphy,
who leads the ACCAC with a 1.12 ERA and 85 strikeouts.
At the plate, Evan LeBlanc leads the Conference with
