ESL Grammar and Writing Assessment Committee SUMMARY OF Submitted by Pamela Rogers, ESL Assessment Committee Chair November 2002 Committee Members: The ESL Assessment Committee has established competency based student learning outcomes statements, developed original assessment tools, and evaluated levels 1 and 2 and 3 grammar classes. It has also piloted a paragraph assessment for level 4 grammar/writing. In addition, the committee has generated recommendations for improved teaching and learning, based on the assessment findings, for levels 1 and 2 grammar. Currently this committee has also established an outcomes statement for level 4 grammar/writing classes and will test levels 2, 3 and 4 in December of 2002. |
