ASSESSMENT STEERING TEAM MINUTES
Date: May 2, 2002

I. DSAAAC Update: Presented by Brent Jameson
Jeremy, Kristin, Mike, Pam & Brent attended the Assessment
Forum at EMCC. Feedback - NCA reports were discussed,
Beneficial to hear varied analysis, also worked on District
definition of Assessment (sees attached handout) also worked
on Role of DSAAAC.

II. Update on Committees
Occupational - working with Jeremy in R & D to compile
information, will start 2nd Outcome in Fall while continuing to
update Outcome statement 1, also shared student portfolios
Kudos on portfolios!
Numeracy - Numeracy Assessment Day had good
participation, approx. 60 samples were evaluated and info.
submitted to R & D, faculty were trained to assess samples
and good discussion came from faculty re; samples.
Writing - Portfolios will be processed/prepared in summer
for the grading sessions scheduled in August.
Oral presentation - no report.
Team Building - no report.
ESL- no report.
Developmental Ed- Committee worked on questionnaire
on study skills, will Pilot w/class, focus will be on language of
Questionnaire,

III. Web- page - Will discuss w/Jack Clegg & PC Webmaster.

IV. Other- Marian will notify faculty to incorporate one of the
Outcome Areas into Fall courses, must be in syllabus.
