ASSESSMENT STEERING TEAM MINUTES
Date: April 4, 2002

I. DSAAAC Update: Presented by Brent Jameson
The Assessment Forum is at EMCC, the following
Are interested in attending Kristin, Pam, Liz, Mike, Scott and
Brent.

II. Update on Committees:
Occupational - waiting on feedback from R & D Office.
Numeracy - no report.
Writing - samples are submitted to R & D. The committee has
decided to schedule 4 evaluation sessions - 2 during
accountability week and 2 the following week. They need
10 people/session, total of 40 readers. The goal is to complete
evaluations by Fall.
Oral Presentation - Margaret Souders is new committee
member, samples collected this semester came from 5 areas.
Team Building - There are 12 faculty using the rubric, a few
new ones from Assessment Day, committee would like to
continue "spreading the rubric". Committee has set goals
for 2002-2003, see Loman or Dorothy for this information.
ESL - Collecting samples April 28th & 29th, evaluating May 2nd .
Level III results are poor - committee & Chair will reevaluate
Level III instrument & results.
Developmental Ed - committee has evaluated specific areas
of Study Skills to create the instrument/ tool to be used, format
not yet determined.

III. Other - Welcome to Elizabeth Saliba, New Faculty Orientation
Coordinator for 2002-2003, therefore member of Steering
Team.

IV. AAHE - Meeting is in June in Boston - members are encouraged
To attend.
