the leading source for online tutoring and academic support,
to offer free online tutoring services to all Phoenix College
students.
SMARTHINKING gives students the opportunity to interact
with live tutors anytime, anywhere.

Note: Phoenix College students will receive
10 hours of free tutoring access over the course of the
academic year.
Time is deducted according to the following uses:
• Live drop-in sessions: "Metered" to the minute of time
spent
working with an e-structor, plus 5 minutes for administration
• Submitted questions: 20 minutes
• Submitted essays or career writing: 35 minutes
SMARTHINKING
Basics
• Create a SMARTHINKING
account
Click the the Create an Account button on the left. Complete
the registration form; choose a new username and password. Use your user
name and password whenever you need help.
• Connect with an
e-structor and interact with a live tutor when you have a question.
Note: The first time you use SMARTHINKING,
you will get a “plug-in” notice. In order to continue, you
must click "Yes"
when asked if you will accept the plug-in.
- Submit your writing for any class to the Online
Writing Lab and receive feedback from a tutor usually within 24 hours.
- Submit a question and a tutor will
reply usually within 24 hours.
• Update your account
- Log in.
- Click on “My Account.”
- Click the icon on the left side: “"If
you received a new username from your school..."”
- Enter the new username and password this will
recharge your account.
• Technical requirements
Processor: Pentium 100 processor (or Mac equivalent).
Browser: For IBM PC Compatibles
users - Netscape Navigator or Communicator 4.07 or better, or Internet
Explorer 4.01 or better.
Mac users - Internet Explorer required.
Connection: 28.8K modem, 56K
modem recommended.
