It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's...Comic Book Writing at Phoenix College
Attention all comic book lovers! Is your dream to work with MARVEL, DC, IMAGE or other leading comic book publishing companies? Phoenix College is offering Topics in Writing Fiction: Introduction to Comic Book Writing this semester, beginning September 28. The course will include class discussions on great comic book writers like Jeph Loeb, Brian Michael, Greg Rucka and Joe Kelly. The class will also view and discuss movies and television shows derived from some of the great comic books such as X-Men 2 and Smallville. Learn the techniques of script writing and turn your great X-Men, Superman, Wonder Woman and Hulk stories into a polished piece of work.

Campus Introduction to Comic Book Writing instructor, Hershman John is both a poet and a short fiction writer. He enjoys reading American Indian authors, poetic theory and comic books. John is a full-time faculty member at Phoenix College and teaches poetry, comic book writing, English composition and American Indian Studies. He has been widely published in literary magazines, including Flyway-A Literary Review, Haydens Ferry Review, Journal of Navajo Education, The Southern Anthology and O Taste and See: Food Poems.
