Jane F. Clark Scholarship Established for Legal Assisting Students
The Jane F. Clark scholarship was established and funded through a generous donation from local residents Neal and Norma Clark in memory of Neals first wife, Jane Clark. Jane was avidly involved in the legal assisting profession. After moving to Phoenix in 1976 Jane worked as a legal secretary for Bendhiem and Mote. After several years at Bendhiem and Mote she moved to Cohen and Fromm to further her career, where she worked up until the time of her death in 1985. Because Jane had such a passion for the legal assisting profession, Neal and Norma elected to honor her and keep her memory alive by improving the educational opportunities of others. Also, as a former Phoenix College student himself, Neal wanted to give back to Phoenix College. He attended Phoenix College in the late 70s. "Norma and I wanted to establish this scholarship in Janes memory to provide financial assistance that would enable someone to receive an education," he said. "We thought that helping provide an opportunity to receive an education would be a fitting tribute to Jane, who was always willing to lend a helping hand." For more information on the Jane C. Clark scholarship or for an application, please call 602-285-7666. ### |
