Women's Financial Forum Offers Approaches To Success

(PHOENIX, Ariz., Sept. 11, 2003) - "Let's Talk Money - Financial Literacy for Women" is the topic of a Women's Economic Forum from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Phoenix College in Room C-102.

The forum will offer an in-depth look at the financial triumphs and challenges of three successful career women and their approaches to financial success. They include Bettye Harris Jackson, Jackson Airport Enterprises Inc; Debi Kuehn, MBA, Clear Path Credit Consultants; and Briiana Leon, city of Phoenix Street Transportation Department. The panel moderator will be Mary Thomson, director of the Governor's Division for Women.

Attendees will learn about personal economic growth and development, discuss an economic timeline, access financial literacy resources and discover opportunities for women in non-traditional jobs.

"The Phoenix Women's Commission and its partners are excited and proud to present this Women's Economic Forum that will offer women in our community an opportunity to gather the information and tools needed to further their economic goals for financial independence," said Amy Mancuso, chair, Phoenix Women's Commission.

The free forum is sponsored by the Phoenix Women's Commission, city of Phoenix Equal Opportunity and Personnel departments and Phoenix College. Refreshments will be served. Free parking is available at the Phoenix College parking lot.
