(PHOENIX, Ariz., Sept. 26, 2003) – The Phoenix College Business Department awarded $12,650 in scholarships during a recognition ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 24. Forty-one students received awards ranging from $100 to $500 for the Fall and Spring semester.

During the ceremony, guest speaker and member of the Arizona House of Representatives, John Loredo encouraged students to take advantage of every opportunity presented to them in this competitive world. Also, Chancellor of the Maricopa Community College District, Rufus Glasper attended the event, making this one of is first official acts as the new Chancellor. In addition, special attendees included Phoenix College President, Dr. Corina Gardea and Maricopa Governing Board member, Mrs. Linda Rosenthal.

($100 awards to Business students enrolled part-time (minimum of six credits) during Spring 2003 and Fall 2003 semesters and with a minimum GPA of 2.0.)
