FINANCIAL AID OFFICE RECEIVES $1,000 CHECK FOR STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

(PHOENIX, Ariz., Sept. 5, 2003) Genevieve Watson, Phoenix College Financial Aid director, recently accepted a $1,000 check from Southwest Student Services Corporation (Southwest). Southwest representatives Tip Blewitt, assistant vice president and Stacy M. LaValle, marketing manager recognized Watson for her ongoing commitment to higher education.

"It was fabulous news to learn I had won a scholarship for Phoenix College students," said Watson. "What a wonderful reward for actively participating in the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Conference (NASFAA) that was held in Salt Lake City, in July."

The annual NASFAA conference gives members of the financial aid community an opportunity to hear keynote speeches, attend interest group sessions and participate in roundtable discussions to broaden their knowledge and further assist students. Southwest honored Watson, as a member of this professional organization, because of her educational leadership.

Southwest Student Services Corporation is a nonprofit organization committed to providing financial access to education. Along with its affiliates, Southwest has been serving students, families, schools and lending institutions across the United States for 20 years.
