Award-Winning Novelist Hosts Romance Writing Workshop Oct. 18


(PHOENIX, Ariz., Oct. 8, 2003) - Award winning novelist, Connie Flynn, will host a three-hour writing workshop entitled "Writing Romance Stories" on Saturday, Oct. 18 beginning at 9 a.m. on the Phoenix College campus - B159.

Flynn will present an overview of the romance genre and explain differences and similarities it shares with other genres. During the workshop, the basic plot will be discussed and participants will have the opportunity to develop a frame for their own romance story.

This workshop serves as a preview to a new course offered this spring at Phoenix College entitled "Writing the Romance Story." The course will be taught by Flynn.

Flynn’s 10 novels span the romance sub-genres of paranormal, romantic suspense and humor. Her paranormal novels have consistently hit industry and on-line bestseller lists and have also received several writing award nominations. Her most recent book, The Dragon Hour, received the PRISM Award for best time-travel romance. She is currently working on a trilogy based on her bestselling werewolf romance series. An experienced presenter of the day-long "Writing Popular Fiction Seminar," which she designed, Flynn is also a member of Romance Writers of America and The Writers Guild.
