(PHOENIX, Ariz., Oct. 7, 2003)—Register today for a chance to compete for generous cash prizes in round one of the National Student Mathematics League Competition. On Wednesday, October 29 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., students will compete by taking a 20-question multiple choice test in pre-calculus Math. The first place winner of round one will receive a $75 check, second place will receive a $50 check.

Now here’s the exciting part, since this is a two round competition (round two will take place in the spring), eligible Phoenix College students who complete both rounds have the chance to win awards up to $500! That’s not all, if you win first place in the nation, you will receive a $3,000 scholarship!

All you need to do for a chance to win these great cash prizes is to register no later than Monday, October 27 and participate in the National Student Mathematics League Competition. Registration forms are available in the Math Office, A-230.
