International Story Share Festival Showcased ESL Student Work Register now for Spring ESL Reading, English & Communication Classes (PHOENIX, Ariz., Nov. 29, 2004) - Imagine a group of international students coming together under one roof to share their remarkable experiences while in the United States. That is exactly what happened on Wednesday, Nov. 17 during the International Story Share Festival at Phoenix College. Students from around the world enrolled in Phoenix College English, Reading and Communication classes retold their unique stories at this annual event. This event truly allowed audience members to get a taste of cultures from around the world through the words of ESL students. The International Story Share Festival showcased 13 original stories written by First Year Composition and English as a Second Language Level 4 students who speak English as their second language. Native languages ranged from Spanish to Russian. The following stories were
selected by students of College Reading Skills I and were presented
by Pronunciation of American Speech students. Phoenix College offers an array of classes for the ESL student. From classes on phonics and grammar to listening and speaking skills, second language learners feel at home at Phoenix College. Registration is currently underway.
