Phoenix College Celebrates Native American Indian Heritage Awareness Month Starting Nov. 15 (PHOENIX, Ariz., Nov. 15, 2004) - Phoenix College will celebrate Native American Indian Heritage Awareness Month beginning Monday, Nov. 15. In 1915, Native American Indian Heritage Awareness Month became a national event when a proclamation was formally approved by the National Congress of American Indians. In 1990, former President George Bush approved a joint resolution announcing November as National American Indian Heritage Month. Celebrate and learn more about the Native American culture this week with the following activities sponsored by the Phoenix College Native American Student Association (NASA).

The Native American foods potluck will feature blue pancakes, blue mush, wild berry mush, Hopi pikki bread, Hopi sweet bread, Pima chili stew, fry bread and more. The potluck is free and open to the public.
