Nominate
a Deserving Phoenix College Instructor to Receive the
Distinguished Teaching Award
(PHOENIX, Ariz., Nov. 10, 2004)Do
you know a Phoenix College teacher who has gone above and beyond in their
profession to help students, pursue higher education or serve as a Phoenix
College representative to the greater community? If so, you can thank
this special teacher by nominating him/her to receive the Distinguished
Teaching Award.
Exclusive to Phoenix College,
this special award allows for recipients (up to two annually) to attend
an all expense paid trip to a professional conference or seminarvalued
up to $1,500 and share their methods and techniques with other faculty.
Also, they are awarded a $250 scholarship given in their name to a deserving
student of their choice and are honored with a plaque.
In order to be eligible for
the Distinguished Teaching Award, nominees must:
--Be residential (full-time)
faculty.
--Have taught at Phoenix College for at least three years.
--Demonstrate a sustained contribution to the students and the college.
If you have a nominee in mind, write a short essay (approximately 250-words)
explaining what you believe distinguishes this teacher from others on
campus. Be sure to provide specific examples that illustrate this persons
teaching excellence. Also, include your name (if you wish to remain anonymous,
please specify), your signature, your relationship to nominee (e.g., student,
colleague, etc.), and the date.
