Two Phoenix College Employees Graduate from Year-long Leadership Program (PHOENIX, Ariz., Nov. 2, 2004) - Two Phoenix College employees recently graduated with astounding leadership credentials from The Academy for Leadership and Development. Kathy Green, instructor for Applied Business, and Paul DeRose, fiscal agent for the Fiscal Office and Cashiers, successfully completed the program requirements this past October. The Academy for Leadership and Development is a program created in conjunction with the nationally-known Chair Academy, a division of the Maricopa Community College District, in Mesa, Arizona. The Academy advances organizational leadership and provides succession planning for leaders in community and technical colleges. Both Green and DeRose participated in the skills-based program which consisted of two 5-day residential training sessions and a practicum experience over a 12-month period. The central element of the program was the development and implementation of a Professional Development Plan that encompassed the following areas covered in the residential training: --Complex
Role of the Organizational Leader Program participants were nominated by their individual colleges and were selected to attend. The Academy and Phoenix College congratulate Kathy Green and Paul DeRose for their successful completion of this program. The Academy is a year-long program which includes an initial week of on-site training; a practicum experience involving implementation of an individualized professional development plan focusing on the application of skills learned during training; a mentor program; and a final week of on-site training consisting of additional leadership issues. ### |
