(PHOENIX, Ariz., Nov. 5, 2003) The Phoenix College Interpreter
Preparation Programs welcomes four female guest lectures who will present
in the John Paul Theatre on Friday, Nov. 7 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The event, which was organized
by the Arizona Lectureship for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, will feature
the following prominent women from the Valley.
Nancy Hlibok Amann
Nancy, a Ph.D. candidate in Language, Reading and Culture at the University
of Arizona with a minor in Anthropology, is profoundly deaf. She is the
youngest member of a large deaf family from New York City and she is currently
living in Tucson.
Lisa Moore
Lisa is a deaf woman and is currently a production artist with The Arizona
Republic. She is also a part-time sales associate for Robinsons
May.
Deb Stone
Deb is currently a deaf specialist with the Arizona Commission for the
Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She has many roles within that agency, such
as making presentations on deaf/hard of hearing awareness and sensitivity
training.
Ann Marie Sullivan
Ann Marie is a hard of hearing woman and is currently semi-retired as
owner of COM-TIPS (Communication Tips). She conducted training sessions
with local government agencies, retirement homes and other businesses
throughout Arizona.
