The Phoenix College Black Student Union (BSU) will present The African/African-
American Diaspora with guest speaker, Dr. Elisee Soumonni from Benin,
Africa on
Tuesday, Dec. 3 beginning at 10 a.m. in C102.
Special guest sepaker, Dr. Elisee Soumonni is the professor and director
of the Institut
Beninois d'Etudes et de Recherche sur la Diaspora Africaine (IBERDA).
He is currently
teaching at the Universite Nationale du Benin and has many published works.
Soumonni is also a member of the International Scientific Committee of
the
UNESCO/Slave Route Project, Steering Committee of the UNESCO ASPnet
Transatlantic Slave Trade (TST) Education Project and Executive Committee
of Nigerian
Hinterland Project (NHP).
The event will include both a morning and afternoon session. It is free
and open to the
public.

Dr. Soumonni, a young adult African student, an elder African, a young
adult African-American student and an elder African-American.
