Phoenix College Selects New Dean of Student Affairs
From 1998 to 2002 she served as an Associate Dean of Student Services at Gateway Community College and in 2002 she accepted the Associate Dean of Student Services position at Scottsdale Community College. In both roles, she has solidified an extensive list of qualifications, making her an ideal fit for the new position. Dr. Kushibab has 16 years of leadership experience in higher education ranging from administrative experience to student service experience. She has also coordinated and evaluated more than 12 student services programs. In addition, she created the Student Services Institute as well as a number of summer bridge programs for high school students. In addition to her long list of credentials, Dr. Kushibab has received many accolades for her work. For example, she carries a long list of honors and awards that clearly outline her commitment to education and dedication to students. Her most recent honors include: National Council of Student Development's Exemplary Practice Award for the Student Services Institute; National Association of Student Personnel Administrators Senior Fellow; and Arizona State University Dean's Excellence Award for Graduate Research. Not only is Dr. Kushibab active within her professional community, she also like to give back to her local community as well. She has in various capacities for the following: Scottsdale Airpark Rotary, Arizona Town Hall, City of Phoenix Bond Committee, Central Village Planning Committee, Van Buren Civic Association, Sky Harbor Airport Advisory Committee, City of Phoenix Light Rail Task Force and Light Rail Urban Design Task Force. Dr. Kushibab holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University, a M.A. from the University of Phoenix, a B.A. from Arizona State University and an A.A. from Glendale Community College. ###
