Develop Leadership Skills by Participating in the Elite Six-Day LeaderShape Retreat

(PHOENIX, Ariz. March 22, 2005) - Six Phoenix College students will be chosen to participate in the LeaderShape retreat program that will take place May 20-25. These participants will be given the opportunity to connect with students from nine other Maricopa Community Colleges on a six day adventure in self discovery that will develop leadership concepts and abilities through interactive and practical experiences.

The LeaderShape program will be held at ASU East. Participants will remain on the campus throughout the duration of the retreat. A $40 participation fee is required if you are accepted into the program. Housing, transportation, and meals will be provided.

LeaderShape focuses on leadership as a process, a process that is defined as making a commitment to a vision, developing relationships to bring the vision into reality and sustaining a high level of integrity. Topics addressed include: community, diversity, individual and group values, self-exploration and discovery and challenge.

Since 1986, more than 18,000 participants from over 500 colleges and universities have successfully participated in the LeaderShape program.
