Fine Cuisine and Conversation Breakfast Brought High School Counselors to PC

(PHOENIX, Ariz., March 28, 2005) - Recently, a number of high school counselors from the Phoenix area attended a Fine Cuisine and Conversation breakfast at the Phoenix College Culinary Café. The event was sponsored by the Counseling Department and the Vice President of Student Affairs.

The mission of the meeting was to provide a location where Phoenix College counselors could meet with high school counselors to discuss and dialogue about how both parties can support students considering Phoenix College as the initial step toward higher education.

The breakfast began with a welcome by Vice President of Student Affairs, Morris Johnson. After the welcome, the high school counselors received information about the new services at the college: Math + Science Center, Career Work Experience, High School Bridge Programs, and Transition Statistics.

The meeting also allowed both high school and college counselors, as well as staff from enrollment services departments, an opportunity to work together in various breakout sessions to discuss how they can mutually support students.

For more information about the high school counselors' ideas and services provided by the Phoenix College Counseling Department, please call (602) 285-7392.
