Campus Community Celebrated Dr. Seuss’s Birthday with Read Across America Event

Submitted by: Sara Soller

On Tuesday, March 4, at noon on the steps of Bulpitt Auditorium, Phoenix College students, staff, faculty and administration joined with thousands of others across the country who were holding Read Across America events last week.

This was the fifth annual celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday and his invaluable contribution to literacy and the joy of reading. The event was sponsored by the Communication/ASL/Theatre and Film Department and Student Life and Leadership.

Many of Dr. Seuss's 48 books have been translated into 20 different languages. Our multicultural read-in included a bilingual reading of "Green Eggs and Ham," and raps of "Cat in the Hat" and "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?"
