Celebration of Languages Set for March 7

The Phoenix College Foreign
Languages Department will host A Celebration of Languages on Friday, March
7 in honor of National Foreign Language Month. The conference on international
cultures and languages will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Bulpitt Auditorium.
This free, half-day event
will provide area middle school youth an opportunity to learn more about
cultural diversity. It will include educational and motivational speaker
Zarco Guerrero, also known to many as the community "mask maker."
The celebration will include
10 exciting workshops, which include:
--Panel: Im Bilingual
--Japanese Language & Culture
--Tour de Español A virtual visit to Spanish speaking countries
--The European Experience
--Navajo Language & Culture
--A Multicultural Experience
--Cultural Music
--A Phrase Around the World
--A Hawaiian Cultural Experience
--A Higher Learning Experience
The conference is open to
local middle school students.
