Bilingual Spanish Courses To Address Community Issues and Concerns By: Christy Skeen As the Valleys Spanish speaking population continues to increase, more and more companies are discovering the benefits of having bilingual employees to address their customers needs. In addition to the colleges basic Spanish classes, Phoenix College will offer community/profession specific Spanish courses this Fall. Ranging from Health Care Spanish to Spanish for Business Communication, these courses are specifically geared for students who are functionally bilingual in both English and Spanish. Fall courses include: Health Care Spanish This is a basic conversational Spanish class for health care workers or students. There will be an emphasis placed on basic sentence structure, pronunciation and vocabulary used in health care settings. Spanish for Business Communication The class will focus on general business terminology, situations and correspondence in Spanish, including sections on cultural differences that can affect business transactions. Spanish for Spanish-Speaking
Students I This course is designed for Spanish-speaking students. An emphasis will be placed on written composition, grammar review, punctuation and spelling, literature and conversation. Phoenix College will also offer Spanish Legal Terminology and Spanish for City Courts in the Spring. Those who are interested are
