Phoenix
College Offers Unique Learning Experience To Help Solve Real World Environmental
Problems
By: Christy Skeen
Phoenix College will offer
a unique learning experience this Fall entitled Green Machine Learning
Community, which focuses on solving real world environmental problems
with computer technology.
Green Machine Learning
Community will help students develop and apply classroom technology
to explore the inner workings of the natural environment and how society
impacts it. Students will apply their computer skills and newly learned
technological tools to their Biology class and lab. Tools will include
computer technology, computer research, experimentation, reading, writing
and public speaking. Ultimately, the course aims to allow students to
become better equipped for action in the global society.
Those students who enroll
in the learning community will receive seven credit hours, which are divided
among three classes. Those classes include: Environmental Biology 105,
Biology Lab 105 and Survey of Computer Information Systems 105.
All seven credits will be
transferable and students will gain real world, hands-on course work.
For more information, please
call (602) 285-7106 or (602) 285-7358. All Green Machine Learning Community
classes begin this Fall.
