College Announces Fine Arts Events for August & September (Phoenix, Ariz., Aug. 8, 2005) - Phoenix College will present a number of fine arts events for the Fall Semester. Below is a listing of events for August and September.
An exciting exhibit of artwork created by students who participated in the Phoenix College Ireland Study Abroad 2005 program at the Quest Campus located at the Charleville Castle in Tullamore, County Offlay, Ireland. Phoenix College Honors Community
Seminar - The Gifts of Ancient Greece Explore the modern society and culture for remnants of the civilization of Homer, Socrates and Alexander the Great with Phoenix College Honors Program adjunct faculty, Mary Schlueter.
The art gallery will sing with the vibrant paintings of these two native Arizona artists. O'Brien and Palmer, friends and artistic partners for more than a decade, present their recent works, ranging from images of desert landscapes to historic Phoenix architecture - with a few surprises in between. Both artists enjoy an ever-growing fan base and placement in private, public and corporate collections. Come and add some color to your life! The Perfect Pitch: Writing
the Nonfiction Book Proposal Perfect your nonfiction book pitching skills with this writing workshop. Participants will be coached on all aspects of writing a book proposal; finding the saleable idea; researching the competition; writing sample chapters; writing an author bio; developing a marketing plan; writing a cover letter; and sizing up agents and publishers. Lori Pfeiffer, a public relations consultant and freelance writer, is the author of The Insiders' Guide to Phoenix, 2nd Edition and edits the Writing Arizona Newsletter. Her current book project is The Mother's Muse: Notes on Writing and Raising Children. Pam Waterman is the author of The Absolute Best Play Days and Jumpstart 5th Grade Activities; she is currently working on The Braces Cookbook.
