Mark Your Calendar for Maricopa Moves Set for Saturday Jan. 29

WHAT:

Maricopa Community Colleges Chancellor, Dr. Rufus Glasper invites all district employees and their family members to join him and City of Phoenix Mayor, Phil Gordon for the very first Maricopa Moves at Phoenix College.

This exciting event is the official Maricopa Community Colleges recognition event for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Walking Works online incentive program in support of health and wellness.

The day will begin with a welcome from Maricopa Community Colleges Chancellor, Dr. Rufus Glasper, City of Phoenix Mayor, Phil Gordon and Acting Phoenix College President, Dr. Anna Solley.

Phoenix College employees are encouraged to participate in this event. Following the inaugural one-mile walk, there will be a variety entertainment for the family, a magic show and an appearance by an Arizona Cardinals cheerleader. Participants can also take advantage of health demonstrations and screenings, games, massage sessions and activity information.

Raffle items will include Arizona Cardinals items, Arena League Rattlers tickets, one-year memberships to college fitness centers and much more.

Also, don't miss former NFL player and four-time Pro Bowler and Phoenix College football coach, Ron Wolfley. He will broadcast his live ESPN radio show from the event.

WHO:

Maricopa employees are encouraged to bring their family members to enjoy a morning of healthy activities, food and information. The first 1000 employees to register will receive a commemorative T-shirt on the day of the event.

Also, to encourage Phoenix College participation, the department with the highest percentage of participants will receive a free lunch from Sacks, compliments of Wellness Maricopa.

Please note, Hoy Field will be closed to the public on Saturday, January 29 from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.
