Phoenix College Hosts 21st Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Celebration

(PHOENIX, Ariz., Jan. 14, 2005) - Phoenix College will celebrate the legacy and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through enrichment, education and entertainment on Saturday, Jan. 15 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the college campus.

The morning will kick-off with the Black National Anthem performed by Soul Ghetto and an address will be given by keynote speaker, Alonzo Jones, assistant dean of the Student Life Multicultural Student Center at Arizona State University.

There will be a number of workshops for students during the morning session. They will include:

--Planning Your Future-Show Me the Money
--Abstinence
--College of Law
--The Role of Black Students in the 21st Century
--Sports (Males)
--Anger Management
--Juvenile Diversion
--Poetry Workshop
--Introduction to Arts and Entertainment

In addition to morning workshop sessions, attendees can enjoy afternoon entertainment with Celerity MC Super Snake, MC Puppy Love and MC Billy Ramsey.
