Spring 2003 Schedule

The
Phoenix College Adult Education Program, also known as the Senior Adult
Education Program, recently released its Spring 2003 schedule of upcoming
classes and workshops.
The Adult Education Program
offers a variety of educational experiences including courses, lecture
series, special events and workshops, which are designed to provide informal
and enriching learning opportunities. The program offers a number of classes
and workshops for a minimal fee.
Although activities are open
to individuals of all ages, the programs and workshops are specifically
geared to the senior adult.

Beginning Knitting
Learn to manipulate those elusive knitting needles under the instruction
of an experienced professional in a relaxed environment. This class meets
for eight sessions on Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Growing Herbs for Aroma
Therapy
Learn about the calming, healing and invigorating effects that herbs play
in Aroma Therapy. This class meets for five sessions on Fridays from 10:00
a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Colored Pencil Drawing
This is an opportunity to unleash your creativity in a supportive environment.
Learn basic drawing techniques and discover materials exploration and
gain knowledge of color mixing. This class meets for eight sessions on
Fridays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Home Décor Projects
Join this class to see demonstrations and learn construction techniques
of various home projects per the desires of the group. Participants bring
their own equipment such as: sewing machines, fabric and other items as
needed. Time to get those new projects started for your home. This Class
meets for six sessions on Fridays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Writing Your Cookbook
Join this fun class and learn to pull your ideas together in a cohesive,
easy to read book that will be treasured for years. This class meets for
six sessions on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Travel Slide Presentation
Whether you are planning to travel or just want to enjoy a trip from the
perspective of another, this colorful slide presentation is right up your
alley. This presentation boasts beautiful scenery from the Caribbean.
Develop an appreciation of the history of Puerto Rico by exploring the
narrow cobblestone streets of old San Juan. Hike the isolated canyons
of the El Yunque Rainforest. Visit Tortuloa and experience the swaying
coconut palms on crystal white beaches while the foamy waves of the turquoise
and Blue Ocean provide an exquisite backdrop. This class meets for two
sessions on Tuesday 04/08/03 and 04/22/03.

Introduction to Genealogy
Do you want to know about your long lost relatives? Take advantage with
this class to reveal techniques and primary sources used by professionals
in genealogy research. Learn how to organize and research the materials

Romance of the Opera
This is your opportunity to experience the passionate world of opera.
Gain insight listening and discussing four masterpieces: Verdis
Rigoletto and Aida; Puccinis Tosca and Turandot; Gunods Faust;

on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
