(PHOENIX, Ariz., Feb. 17, 2005) - For six years running, the MCCD Women's Leadership Group (WLG) has honored exceptional women from each of the colleges and the district office at the annual Spring Luncheon. This year's event will take place on April 5.

This tradition is rooted in the truism that women do not offer enough recognition for achievement. In accordance with the WLG mission, members of the Women's Leadership Group would like to celebrate outstanding women once again this year.

Phoenix College will honor one woman who will be recognized as our very own Woman of Distinction. She will then be honored during the district celebration.

To Submit Nominations:

All employees are encouraged to submit nominations. The following information should be forwarded to either WLG representative Tresa Miller (Advisement) or Christy Skeen (Institutional Advancement) by Wednesday, March 9.

1) Name, title, college, and position held of the woman you are nominating.

2) An executive summary (no more than 50 words) of why she is being nominated. Include how she exemplifies:

• Leadership - How does she demonstrate leadership at any level of the organization? What initiatives has she progressed for the good of the students, college or district?
• Innovation - How has she developed 'out of the box' solutions to college issues?
• Service - How does she go 'above and beyond' her immediate job responsibilities?
• Contribution to Women - How does she contribute to the professional lives of Maricopa women?
