Phoenix College Searching for Lost Alumni

(PHOENIX, Ariz., Feb. 28, 2005) - For 85 years, Phoenix College has educated men and women across the Valley and throughout the nation. Today, the college honors its dedicated alumni and inducts the Class of 1955 into the Half-Century Club during the annual Spring meeting and luncheon, which will be held on Friday, March 11.

The college is currently seeking all alumni who graduated or attended Phoenix College between 1920 and 1955. This event marks the 50th reunion for the Class of 1955, and the college would like to honor and celebrate this wonderful class.

Highlights of the event include:

--10:30 a.m. - Social Hour at the Alumni Office
--Annual Business Meeting of the Half-Century Club and Board elections
--Luncheon in the Culinary Café
--Induction of the Class of 1955 into the Half-Century Club
--Keynote Speaker: Ron Wolfley, former NFL player, ESPN radio talk show host, and head football coach of the Phoenix College Bears

The Half-Century Club is a unique asset to the college. Its history not only adds to the character of the Phoenix College Alumni Association, but to the overall college as well.

  • The Half Century Club was founded in 1992 by distinguished Phoenix College alumnus and prominent Valley attorney, Royal D. Marks.
  • The club is comprised of more than 1,200 alumni who either graduated or attended Phoenix College 50 or more years ago or are alumni from 1920 - 1955.
  • All club activities are overseen by a volunteer board of directors.
  • Priorities for the Half-Century Club include: scholarship fundraising, community service, mentoring, the Phoenix College Achieving a College Education (ACE) program, and Personal Money Management Program.

There are no memberships fees associated with the Half-Century Club and involvement in the club is welcome at any level. The club is a great way to reconnect with the college and socialize with college friends.

Seating for the luncheon is limited and reservations are required. The cost for the luncheon is $20 per person. Please call (602) 285-7337 to RSVP by March 7.
