Phoenix College Welcomes New Associate Dean of Information Technology

(PHOENIX, AZ) Feb. 7, 2005 - Paul Golisch, former information technology consultant, has been appointed the new Associate Dean of Information Technology at Phoenix College. Golisch brings extensive knowledge to the position as an experienced District Technology Coordinator from Illinois.

Prior to relocating to Arizona, Golisch served as the District Technology Coordinator in the largest high school district in Illinois. While working with district 211, Golisch supported a wide variety of significant technology projects including a ceiling-mounted video projector in every classroom, access to network drives from home, web-based access to grades and other student information, and a "Trailblazer" staff development program. Golisch also successfully assembled the first "Cross-Curricular" computer lab in his district.

Golisch has presented at local, statewide, and national conferences, and is a member of several professional organizations including The National School Boards Association: Technology Leadership Network(NSBA-TLN,) the National Staff Development Council (NSDC,) International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE,) Illinois Computing Educators (ICE,) and was elected as Chair of the North Suburban Shared Technologies Consortium in 2004.

Prior to becoming a District Technology Coordinator, Golisch began his career in education as a mathematics and computer programming teacher as well as a soccer coach. During his teaching career, he won the Illinois Math & Science Academy's IMPACT II award for developing a program for reviewing Geometry concepts.

Golisch also directed the construction of the comprehensive district-wide technology plan for 2004-2007, and was awarded the prestigious Illinois State Board of Education Those Who Excel award.

Golisch received his Administrative Certificate from Northern Illinois University, a B.S. from Valparaiso University, and a M.Ed. (Technology in Education) from National-Louis University.
